  • What is the Au Pair Program

    This program offers an opportunity for young people to live with a Chinese host family, experience authentic Chinese culture, and build lifelong international friendships. Please carefully read the project details before filling out this form.

  • What It Will Look Like

    Project Overview

    This Max Wisdom Au Pair Program is a cultural exchange opportunity in China, designed for young people who would like to:

    • Live with a Chinese host family
    • Help children practice English through daily communication and activities
    • Experience Chinese culture, lifestyle, and traditions
    • Learn Chinese language with free lessons provided
    • No program fees – this program is completely free for au pair applicants.
    • Applicants are responsible for visa fees and flight tickets.
    • For applicants who participate in programs of 6 months or longer, the flight ticket will be fully reimbursed after arrival in China.

  • What You Will Do

    • Spend time with children (play, read stories, practice English)
    • Share your culture and language with the family
    • Join family activities (meals, outings, celebrations)
    • Work around 30 hours per week (mainly child-related tasks, not housework)
    • Dedicate time every day to learning Chinese (with lessons provided)
    • Participate in cultural activities organized by our program (experience Chinese traditions, festivals, and local life)
    • Visit famous landmarks and historical sites as part of cultural exchange events

  • What You Will Receive

    • Free accommodation & meals with a Chinese host family
    • Monthly pocket money allowance (400-500 USD)
    • Free Chinese language lessons (basic Mandarin classes)
    • Official invitation letter from a Chinese university for student visa application
    • Fully Flight reimbursed for programs of 6 months or longer
    • Airport pickup upon arrival in China
    • Welcome dinner with host family upon arrival
    • Full assistance with accommodation registration (police registration)
    • Free medical check-up for foreigners in China (required for residence registration)
    • Travel insurance included
    • Continuous support and guidance

  • Program Duration

    • Minimum stay: 3 months
    • Maximum stay: 12 months
    • Flexible start dates throughout the year

  • Requirements

    • Age: 18–28 years old
    • Fluent English (TEFL, TESOL, IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge certificates are preferred)
    • Education-related certificates or study background are an advantage
    • Love spending time with children, patient and responsible
    • Open-minded and eager to experience new culture
    • No criminal record
    • Good health
